Welcount, becomes an official partner of the UN
We’re thrilled to share a major milestone in our journey: Welcount (formerly known as Welcome Account) is now an official partner of the United Nations.
Through the UNHCR Innovation Fund, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has selected Welcount to support financial inclusion for newcomers and refugees. This partnership is a powerful recognition of our mission to make banking simple, accessible, and multilingual for people starting over in a new country.
During UN 2.0 Week (June 9–13, 2025) — the global virtual event focused on reimagining the future of the UN — our co-founder and CEO Rooh Savar presented Welcount’s vision and tech-driven solutions to a global audience of innovators, UN leaders, and change-makers. This spotlight placed Welcount at the heart of global conversations about digital inclusion, AI for good, and the SDGs.
🌍 A mission with global impact
From our beginnings as a banking solution for newcomers to France, Welcount is now gaining recognition on the international stage. We’ve been featured in major media (France Inter, 20 Minutes, podcasts) and selected by Microsoft as a top AI startup to present at the Choose France summit with President Emmanuel Macron.
But above all, this UN partnership reminds us why we started: to serve people who are rebuilding their lives.
“Welcount is Goldman Sachs — with heart.”
— Paul Lê, Founder of La Belle Vie
🤝 Welcount for institutions
Today, Welcount works with over 30 companies, NGOs, and universities to open multilingual, digital bank accounts for their teams and beneficiaries. And with the UN’s support, we’re taking this impact even further — making sure no one is left behind.
💛 Thank you for being part of this journey. The best is yet to come.
